Sony Wonder Technology Lab

Music Mixer is a multi-player interactive at the Sony Wonder Technology Lab that unleashes the musical curiosities and talents of its visitors. Unified Field designed and developed the multi-touch table in which visitors collaborate on a “real-time remix” of a song by Grammy Award winner, Alicia Keys. As visitors play, Alicia encourages them to create their own music and to reimagine her song, Empire State of Mind. Visitors can blend instrumental tracks with different styles and musical effects and produce musical notes using “audio blocks” with instruments from various musical genres. Each note created is represented by an animated shape, flowing in a real-time musical stream across the table. Together, visitors make beautiful music together and their collaborations, though always unique, always sound great.
